Concert Association of Valparaiso presents the Original Chicago Five, a Dixieland band that plays traditional jazz from the 1920s and 30s. The difference between Dixieland and Traditional Jazz is the style in which it is played -- and that was the Chicago influence. Louis Armstrong came up from New Orleans to Chicago to learn this style. Organized by Andy Schumm, this group is likely the finest jazz band in the area and has played throughout the country and Europe. This is the toe-tapping, table-thumping concert opener of our new 75th season. More details at www.valpoconcerts.com or on Facebook: 'Concert Association of Valparaiso'.
