Join us at the Westchester Township History Museum for a 1920s-style garden party outside (weather permitting) with music, costumes, and refreshments including 1920s inventions like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Twizzlers, and popsicles, as well as 1920s-themed games and contests. Like to dress up? If so, wearing your own period-appropriate costume is welcomed (but not required).
We're celebrating the opening of the new exhibit "Westchester Township in the Jazz Age: 1920-1929" on Sunday, June 10 from 2-4 p.m. This exhibit celebrates everything about the 1920s that most people never learned about: life outside the big lights and the big cities. From local fashion and politics to home-made booze and crime in the dunes, learn what life was like here during the Roaring 20s. The exhibit will run through September 2.
Westchester Township History Museum is located in the Brown Mansion at 700 W. Porter Ave., Chesterton. The museum is an educational and cultural service of Westchester Public Library and is open to the public free of charge Wednesday-Sunday from 1-5 p.m., or by appointment.
